Monday Made It- Winter Themed

Can't believe it's already another Monday Made It.
It just seemed like yesterday that I was getting my "crafting on" for  some Christmas ideas.
Now all of the Christmas decor at our house is packed up.
Things suddenly look so bare in our house.
*SIGH*

I couldn't wait to link up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics for another Monday Made It.

My Monday Made It theme is "All Things Winter".

1. I wanted to make a quick and easy wreath to place on our front door. I found a cute idea online to create a snowman wreath. So... off to the craft store I went to purchase a few supplies.  I needed indoor/outdoor white spray paint, craft wire, 3 varying sizes of grapevine wreath, ribbon to make a scarf, black pipe cleaner, and a black hat.
In order to make the snowman wreath, I laid out the 3 grapevine wreaths from largest to smallest to create the body of the snowman.  Then I used the craft wire to attach each grapevine.

Next, I took the snowman wreath outside to spray paint it white.
It took a couple of coats of white paint.

Finally, once the snowman was dry, I added a scarf from ribbon and a hat.  I used black pipe cleaner to secure the hat.
Now we have a wreath that matches the wintery scene in our neighborhood.

2. My second project is for the classroom.  We had a two day school week last week, so to get my students back into a routine, I planned many snowman and winter themed activities.

My students filled out a job application to be a snowman builder.  Then they had to design their own torn-paper snowman .

3. Lastly, I created some winter themed literacy and math activities that are aligned to the Common Core to use with my students.  If you are interested in finding out more, just click on the picture below.

I love your wreath!! Those snowmen are too cute. I do something similar, with torn pieces for the snowman. Those centers look fab too! I had planned on making winter centers and never got around to it! haha! Have a great week at school. I'm posting from the computer lab. Shhh, don't tell anyone! :)

Your snowman wreath is adorable. I also made a wreath, but your snowman is WAY cuter!
