Christmas projects and MORE

Hi Sweet Friends!

It's the week before Christmas and all through the classroom
there are projects, projects, and projects.

Seriously!  Our classroom is such a mess looks like Santa's workshop right now.
We have our Christmas tree projects drying in one area of our room, items to make gingerbread houses are stacked in another area of the room, and items for our party on Friday are in another part of our classroom.

I LOVE that my students are having so much fun this last week before Christmas!

Here are a few things we've been up to.

R.A.K.- So many of you have posted about Random Acts of Kindness your students have been participating in that I wanted to do this with my students.

Today we delivered some holiday pencils and erasers to a couple of  classes in our hallway.

The students were so excited when they received a thank you note from one of the classes.

Students also made holiday cards to give to our assistant principal and principal tomorrow morning with Red Velvet cupcakes  from our local bakery.  They can't wait to deliver our next R.A.K. tomorrow.  Their cards were just the sweetest too!

I realize this sweet kiddo has made all sorts of grammatical errors when writing this card, but I still love her message!

My kiddos also finished up their projects for their parent Christmas gifts.  I thought they turned out very cute.  Tomorrow we will be wrapping these photo frame pictures.
These will be placed in a black 5x7 picture frame.

I just had to share some photos of what we've been up to at our house too..

Baking  Christmas cookies.... my youngest two still love to help decorate the sugar cookies.  They each get their separate plate with their very own cookie to decorate.   It usually takes them the whole time to decorate one cookie while I get the others finished.

Here's the recipe for what I think is the best sugar cookie recipe ever.  It's a recipe that has been passed down to my Grandma and now on to us.  LOVE!  This cookie bakes up like a shortbread cookie.  They are perfect for making shapes with cookie cutters and adding a layer of frosting.

Avon cookies:
1 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 cup of shortening ( I use butter flavor Crisco) ( Cream these ingredients together)  Then add 2 eggs 1 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and 1/2 cup of milk.  Mix together well.

Sift together 4 1/2 cups of flour, 3 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1 teaspoon of salt (Add to mixture above)

Chill dough.  I usually make it the night before and let it refrigerate overnight.  Roll out dough and cut the shapes you want.   Bake at 425 for 6-8 minutes.

Have a fabulous rest of the week friends!
