Monday Made It- AND a FREEBIE

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend!
I definitely enjoyed my family time.

I also spent some time working on some Monday Made Its.
I couldn't wait to link up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics.

Take a peek.  I have included a freebie.

1. Reading Genre Posters - FREEBIE

Last week, I worked on some projects to prepare my Math Workshop Rotation Board and area.  This week I've been working on my library and reading area.  My classroom is yellow and black.  I am loving all of the chalkboard graphics that so many people are creating.  So... I wanted to created some chevron and chalkboard themed reading genre posters to hang in my library area.  I love how cute they turned out.  Here are just a few pictures below.  The best part is that you can get these for free for a limited time by clicking on the Facebook Fan Page Freebie on my Facebook Fan Page.  Simply click HERE to check them out and download them for FREE.

2. Crayon Supply Caddy
This year, I am not using a teacher desk.  Some of you have asked me "Why?".  Honestly, I NEVER sit at my desk.  It basically serves as a spot to put papers that need grading and a place to keep my teacher supplies.  My desk was taking up too much wasted space in my classroom.  I am replacing it with a group table in which I can work with students in small groups.  So... I wanted a cute utensil holder to be placed in the middle of this table.
To make this cute crayon caddy, I spray painted an empty vegetable can.
After the spray paint had dried, I fired up my hot glue gun and got to work.
I hot glued crayons around the can.  It took approximately 27 crayons.
When finished, I added a pretty ribbon.

3. Made from Scratch Angel Food Cupcakes

Oh my goodness!  I had my "baking" on for the 4th of July holiday.  My baking usually consists of brownies or cake mixes from a box.  I LOVE angel food cake, and splurged a little over the holiday by making one from scratch.  It was DELICIOUS!  I try to tell myself it's healthier than a regular cake.  My kiddos loved it too, but love cupcakes.  So I thought I'd use the homemade recipe to make angel food cupcakes.  They turned out great.

They turned out great!  ( I'm definitely no cake decorator.)  Click HERE to see the recipe I used.  I used lite Cool Whip to frost the top of the cupcakes.

4.  Lastly, my new classroom decor set. It's called " At The Lemonade Stand- Chevron and Chalkboard Themed Classroom Decor
I LOVE it!  It's my motivation to get into my classroom this week, and redo some things.

Here's a sneak peek of what is in this classroom decor set:

You can find out more about this set by clicking HERE.  This 76 page set is $6.00, but you can purchase this unit for the next 48 hours ( Wednesday at 7 am) for $4.00.

I can't wait to check out all those amazing Monday Made Its.

Kristen,

You might check your link on the 4th Grade Frolics Blog. It takes you to the 4th Grade Frolics page and not to your Monday Made It Post. Just thought you would want to know.

I think you will like not having a desk. For me, it was just one more spot to get cluttered and like you I never sat at it. I love all of your lemonade decor. So Cute!
