Oh my goodness Dear Friends!
As I was working on this Made It Monday edition, I was glued to the television ( holding my breath and my palms sweating profusely)watching Nik Wallenda cross the Grand Canyon. Did anyone else watch hold your breath for those 20+ terrifying minutes? Major Stress!!
So with trembling fingers, I am linking up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics for another edition of:
This week's theme is 4th of July. Can you believe it's almost that time already?!
My first project was a wreath for our front door. I had so much burlap left from some things I had made over the Christmas holiday, so I thought I'd search for a wreath inspiration using burlap. I went on PINTEREST, of course. I found some adorable home decorating blogs and got a little sidetracked looking at them. Click HERE to check out the link to my wreath inspiration. It's from Gallamore West.
Here's my finished product.
Materials Needed for the burlap wreath:
Burlap, ribbon, a straw or foam 12 inch wreath, sewing pins, hot glue gun, and small flags
How to make:
1. Cover the straw wreath with the long strips of burlap. I used sewing pins and hot glue to tightly secure the burlap to the wreath.
Then I cut squares of 2x2inches of burlap. The squares don't have to be perfect. It takes A LOT of squares. Then I pinched the bottom of each square together to kind of form a V and pinned it to the wreath. I also added some hot glue to make sure the wreath stays secure. This project took me a couple of hours from start to completion.
Finally I added ribbon and 4th of July accents to the wreath.
Project #2 4th of July centerpiece
I accidentally came across this while looking for 4th of July decorating ideas on Pinterest. The possibilities are endless. I thought this pinwheel bouquet would make a fabulous first day of school teacher gift or even a great back to school idea to place one on each student's desk. We have a Back To School Night at our school, and I thought this would look so cute on top of their desk with the pinwheel attached to a pencil.
Click Here for the link to my pinwheel inspiration. It comes from Pink Buckaroo Designs.
For this 4th of July centerpiece you will need:
double sided scrapbook paper in 4th of July colors
straws, pencils, or etc to use as the base of the pinwheel
a mason jar
brads
Click on Pink Buckaroo Design's link above for a great tutorial on making the pinwheels. It took me less than a minute to create each pinwheel.
I can't wait to look at all the fabulous Monday Made It projects! Click on the Monday Made It button above to check out all the great ideas. Thanks so much for stopping by!

It's so funny that I replied back to you about trying to do a tie die flag and then I come to visit your blog. It's all about red, white and blue! It all turned out terrific! I love that the centerpiece is cute, but easy to put together...just my kind of craft!
