How to .... and a Bursting with Big Ideas Book Report FREEBIE

I hope everyone has been having a great week!  I have to say this quarter seems to be flying by...  It makes me a bit nervous to think of all I need to accomplish with my kiddos before the quarter's end.

I wanted to share a quick "how to" with you today. It's on how to create a link within a picture on your blog post so that when you click on the picture it goes directly to that link.  I'm relatively new to the blogging world, and this was something I have been trying to figure out... so I googled to find the directions and voila!! This was SO easy.  (If you already know how to do this, my FREEBIE is at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!)

In order to link a picture on your post to another blog site  here is what you do:
1. While you are working on your post click the  edit HTML button.
You'll see that there is no image for a picture there. Instead, there will be only code. Actually, this code is the HTML of our image. 'Compose' mode shows us the compiled HTML and 'Edit HTML' mode shows the raw HTML code. Now do a little bit of editing.
2. Find the code in your html post that represents the picture you want to create a link for.
3.  A picture will have two url's.   The first url is the one you want to delete and add in the url of the site you want the picture to link with.  For example:  In the picture you will find text that says
<a href=" http://and an address".   .     What you will need to do is find the FIRST url or listing that shows <a href= " ... then delete the address that is found after the " and insert the address of the site you want the picture to link to.   Then save.     It's that easy.

Now on to the FREEBIE....  I assign my students a book report twice a year.  One at the end of first semester and another at the end of second semester.  I love the opportunity it provides for students to creatively review a book that he/she has read.  Students are able  to create a play as their book report, create a commercial as their book report and so forth.  Then students present these book reports to the class.  The students enjoy this sharing time.

As a THANK YOU to following my blog and leaving such sweet comments my "Bursting with Big Ideas Book Reports" is free on my TPT store through Sunday night at 6 p.m.  Included in this 16 page unit are 12 different book report styles/forms. Also included is a scoring rubric for the book reports and a parent letter to send home before beginning the book report project. These reports can be used as an in class project or an individual take-home project.

Book report forms that are included are:
