It's practically a holiday around here today AND not because it's Friday the 13th. Why do you ask..... It's OPENING DAY for my favorite baseball team... The St. Louis Cardinals!!!
I know... I know.... baseball began a week ago, but today is FINALLY the Cards first home game ... and it's against the CUBS.
Can you just feel my ENTHUSIASM! I am a HUGE baseball fan. ( I blame it on my little brother who ate, slept, and breathed baseball when he was younger. I loved watching the games).
How do we celebrate this HOLIDAY around here you ask.... by wearing red and lots of it. We had Cardinal day at school today. (You should have seen our school during the play-offs and World Series. So much fun!!) The kids wore their favorite team colors... They also had ballpark food for lunch. This included hot dogs and nachos. Here are a few pics from the day....

I'm curious where in Illinois you are ... your blog about the Cardinals opener piqued my interest. I'm teaching across the river in University City at a Christian school. I've taught kindergarten and first grade for the past 7 years but I'll be teaching 3rd grade next year. It's exciting to find another blogger so close by.
