Lovin' the Linky Parties......

Oh my gosh!  I have such a serious case of writer's block if you haven't noticed... With our spring break a couple of weeks ago and another break for Easter, I've had just as hard of a time getting back into school mode as my students.   Thank goodness for these awesome Linky Parties.  I LOVE them!   This time I get a chance to show off my newly redecorated classroom. Christi from Ms. Fultz's Corner is having a Classroom Linky Party. Click HERE to join the linky party. By the way stop on over and visit Christi after you read my post.  She's having a writer's workshop series, and if she gets 250 followers during this series, she will be giving away an awesome prize!

It's time for everyone to show off how they organize their classroom.  I don't know about all of you, but I love to check out everyone's classroom design.  It's so much fun!  ( ... I have to admit I love to check out the home decor of my friends' and family's houses as well.  I love finding new ways to decorate and design...)
Back in January, I was tired of the same ole same ole in my classroom and wanted a new look.  I found inspiration from SchoolGirl Style's polka dot theme and added this twist to my classroom design.  I have gotten so many compliments when another teacher walks into my room.  I love how bright and cheery it is.  Here are some pics.........

This is a pic of our book selection tree.  In the background are the Work Station group assignments and Classroom Job Chart.
One of the large bulletin boards I use to display classwork.  The students' persuasive essays on space are currently being displayed.
Our new Common Core bulletin board.  This is where the standards we are currently working on are displayed.
This is  a peek at our classroom library.  To the left is a table in which I have file folder games for students to work on that go along with a unit we are studying.

This is the other side of our library.  I have a poetry station to use with literacy stations.  The black shelf is the home to our writing workshop binders.  I plan to purchase one more over the summer so that these binders can be neatly and easily placed in the shelf when students are finished.
Our Accelerated Reader board.... this quarter is the pirate theme.  Fourth quarter just began a couple of weeks ago so our board is  a little bare.

I hope you enjoyed getting to peek into my third grade classroom.  I can't wait to get back into a routine tomorrow with my students.  It's full steam ahead until summer break.  We have so much to accomplish!!

  1. I love the dots! Are you tracking AR points on your Pirate board? We use stars, but I like the idea of mixing it up with different themes. Thanks for linking up!
