Now that we have been back from our family vacation, I have taken some time to work on items in my classroom for this upcoming school year. I've even gotten to go into my classroom this week. Our building was cleaned first, so it's ready for the new school year. (Sometimes we don't get to go into our classrooms until two weeks before school begins. Yikes!)
1. The Daily 5 and Cafe. I can't wait to implement this in my classroom this fall. I found some fabulous free resources to use with implementation. You can download these items by clicking the picture below. Please don't forget to thank the ladies who made these fabulous resources by leaving them some " love " at their TPT store.
The Daily 5 has made me take a look at my classroom library a bit closer. I realize I need more books and have been using Ebay to find some great deals on books. I have also wanted to make my classroom library space more cozy and inviting. So... I've been working on some ideas to "brighten" up this area of my room. Take a look at one of the items I have added to my classroom library below.
I'm linking up with Tara at 4th Grade Folics for her Monday Made it Linky Party.
I have seen these fabulous tissue paper pom poms on Etsy ,and thought these would look so cool hanging above my classroom library. I wanted to create my own to match my black and white polka dotted theme of my classroom. I found some great step by step instructions from Kasey at All Things Mama. Click the link to be taken to the directions for these easy tissue paper pom poms: http://allthingsmamma.com/2012/01/how-to-make-tissue-paper-pom-poms/
These were SO easy. I used yellow, white, and red. I found these colors at Dollar General for only $1 for a pack of 8 20x20 tissue paper. I didn't want my pom poms as large, so I cut the tissue paper in half to create smaller ones. ( I had went to Michael's first, but only found packs of a variety of colors.) These go with the theme of my classroom. Take a look at the finished product below.

Hey, it's summer. You can "Monday Made It" any day :)
ReplyDeleteLove the pom poms. I bought mine, but should have made them. Oh, well.
I like that yours are smaller. So, I might take your lead and make some smaller ones.

Fun in Room 4B
I love these! I was going to buy some too! (and then the fire marshall will make me take them down). Love them! Thanks for linking up:) Never too late:) Open all week and then I start a new one next Monday. Hope you come back next week:))))
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I will have to make mine enormous for them to show up- I have a 14 ft. ceiling. Not looking forward to getting the big tall ladder out to put them up.
